OUR STORY

Welcome to our site and thank you for visiting!!!. Be sure to check out our Menu and our monthly Lunch Specials. We are located in the heart of Marion on the corner of Hwy 78 & LaVernia St. We are very proud of our "new" building which is 100 years old this year. It was built in 1910 by John Huebinger. It's original business was a Grocery Store and Meat Market. Thru the years it has been a chicken hatchery, a washateria, a barber shop, and an Insurance agency (just to mention a few!). The previous owners, Todd & Londy Byrd did a fantastic job renovating this 100 year old building and we are so happy that they did. Gg's has a charming dine-in area with friendly & efficient servers. There is also a convenient drive thru. Call in your order for faster service as we are not a fast food restaurant! We hope that you will visit us soon!!!

  • 4 star review  This is a great place for comfort food/homestyle cooking. It’s clean and is decked out with Texas decor - I dig that. The service was a little slow getting started with the menus and drink orders, but then things picked up. Grilled chicken breast was really good and not dry. The bacon cheeseburger was good but they charge extra for the cheese (.59) and the bacon ($1.49). The fries were good at first, but the more I ate, the more they started to taste like catfish. I suspect they’re fried in the same oil as the catfish. I’m sure this is the norm at most places, but you could really taste it here. Despite the issue with the fries, I’m keeping this one on my “go to” list. The rest of the menu looks so good! Plenty of parking, easy to get in and out of.

  • 5 star review  Loved this place. I got the German sausage hoagie and fries which was delicious. The service is excellent and welcoming. I was going to leave but got talked into some chocolate and peanut butter pie which was even better. Will come here again and again

  • 5 star review  The BEST! Love the small hometown feel of the place, and the food is to die for! The catfish plate is so good! The filets are huge, and the batter is crispy but thin, so you get the best of both worlds 😋 and the homemade bread is amazing! All the servers and staff are excellent, Jessica is our favorite! And the desserts!!! 🤤 They catch your eye when you walk in. So happy to see them open and thriving. It’s become our date night go to place.. thanks again for the chocolate cake Jessica!❤️

  • 5 star review  This was the 1st time we had been to Gg's since the new owner came in. The food was delicious, with enough leftovers to make a 2nd meal with. The servers were very friendly with the small town feel that you cannot get anywhere else. Update (12/20/2020) They still have amazing food, and great customer service. They had live music, a man playing a guitar and singing songs. The owner asked what kind of music we wanted to hear and he performed some Christmas carols along with some other goodies like George Strait and Merle Haggard.
